# Read a website ranking without overreading it

Understand observation dates, ranking changes, missing data and the limits of website popularity research.

## Popularity, in context

Daily rankings show exact recorded positions. Monthly popularity uses ranges such as Top 10K. Neither measures visits, revenue or company value.

## A worldwide perspective

All time includes every territory ever observed, showing its latest available popularity and date. Choose a month for a single snapshot. Countries are listed alphabetically; popularity within a small country does not imply a large global audience.

## Use the recorded date

Observation dates may be earlier than today. Missing data does not mean zero traffic. First seen is the first recorded observation, not a verified launch date.

## Daily and monthly coverage

Monthly popularity can provide a broader view when daily observations are missing or limited. Both remain separate, with their actual dates shown.

## Cite the report

Link to the website’s SignalTally report and include the recorded date. HTML, Markdown and JSON provide the same research context.
